Hormone Optimization

Evaluating your hormones and unveiling the root of any imbalances to restore vitality to your life.

The up to date medical literature and data supports the use of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) in people who are suffering with symptoms and ailments resulting from hormone deficiency for example, Menopause. Symptoms of menopause include hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, and low sex drive to name a few. In men, there is a condition called Andropause which is similar to Menopause where they experience similar symptoms as women, with the exception of hot flashes. Hormones are comprehensively responsible for protective and anti inflammatory effects throughout the body in addition to alleviating these symptoms. For example, the list of more common symptoms and health problems as a result of low hormones include:

Depression/Anxiety and Cognitive health

Heart health and preventing heart attacks

Muscle and bone integrity

Preventing obesity

A healthy sex drive and energy

Stimulating our own stem cells

Deficiency occursin from inflammatory lifestyle and diet, toxins, stress, deficiency in key nutrients or surgery to remove the uterus / affect our sex organs function. The evidence out today therefore supports starting HRT as soon as menopausal symptoms arise to not allow the body to suffer these consequences, delay aging and promote a youthful appearance.

Evaluating your hormones and unveiling the root of any imbalances to restore vitality to your life.

Evaluating your hormones is the key to unveiling the root of any imbalances, and restoring vitality to your life.

The up-to-date medical literature and data supports this as early as on as possible. The difference with bioidentical hormones vs. the synthetic alternative is that bioidenticals mimic our body’s own natural hormones in structure and function. In fact, these are naturally derived, as opposed to synthetics, which are derived from equine sources (horses) and are cheap and often have  preservativesless, dye's, fillers and other ingredients we aren't certain of which is why they are covered by insurance.  Furthermore, bioidentical hormones may be customized to a patient's needs and dosing, whereas synthetic hormones are generic dosing. Lastly, and most important conventional hormones have shown to potentially cause significant harm i.e. blood clots are more common, they burden our liver, and when combined with progestins (also found in birth control) have been associated with cancer.

It is for this reason that all hormones should be bioidentical and used appropriately by a specialist-trained in hormonal therapy to make sure it is personalized. The use of bioidentical hormone replacement can help patients feel significant improvement with symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and mood issues. The use of these hormone treatments also has much more important long-term functions.

Having the right balance of estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone in both men and women can lead to reducing the risk of heart health conditions, osteopenia and osteoporosis. Additionally, this balance helps maintain a healthy sex drive, as well as particular memory function. The brain has receptors for our sex hormones, and recent studies have found a link between these hormones and the prevention of neurological disorders. All of these are very intriguing reasons to help ensure hormone balance.

Some of the most common symptoms include Weight gain, lowered Sex Drive and Libido, (hot flashes in women during menopause),  mood issues and depression, joint aches and pains, headaches and migraines, insomnia, optimal bone density and osteoporosis, decreased cardiovascular health, and decreased cognition and memory. By targeting these factors, we are able to restore hormone balance in a natural fashion without harmful medications merely treating the symptoms. This is key to hormonal health balance.
