Hashimoto's Thyroid balance

Address and target antibodies to the thyroid as in cases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

Our Thyroid Hormone plays a key role in overall hormone balance in men and women. It is responsible for proper growth, energy production and our body function while regulating our weight and metabolism.

Conventional medicine assess thyroid function basing it mostly on basic labs and often diagnosing conditions too late. Furthermore, we actually address and target antibodies to the thyroid as in cases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

If you have a problem with your thyroid, it will undoubtedly have a big impact on your overall health & longevity. It directly affects our sex hormones, such as Estrogen, Testosterone and Progesterone and is often the first place to look when you have other hormone deficiencies as well. Conventional medicine assesses Thyroid function mainly by looking at simplistic labs and not the whole picture, like how you're feeling for example.

We now know that labs are limited in helping because the normal range doesn't apply to so many people. Often a person will describe symptoms associated with thyroid or sex hormone issues that are more indicative of a problem, but help only if the doctor is listening. As Functional Medicine practitioners, we actually address Thyroid this way, while also targeting the root cause of the problem so we can actually resolve the problem. Fore example, in Hashimotos' thyroiditis, auto-antibodies form that attack the thyroid gland. If someone has Hashimoto's or Grave's disease these elevated antibodies are associated with:

Anxiety

Depression

Panic disorder

Obsesive compulsive disorder

These antibodies circulate the body and cause inflammation throughout. It is therefore absolutely a part of helping people get better, not simply replacing Thyroid hormone.
